According to tipster Ice Universe, Samsung may now separate its foldable lineup more clearly. The company’s upcoming wide-screen foldable could become the standard Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8, while the more premium flagship model may launch as the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra.
That change could help Samsung better compete with increasingly powerful foldable rivals entering the market, especially as Chinese smartphone brands continue pushing slimmer and more productivity-focused foldables globally.
The leak also included an alleged image of the upcoming Fold device’s cover display. The phone appears to feature much thinner bezels, squared display corners, and a centered punch-hole selfie camera. Overall, the design looks noticeably more refined compared to previous Galaxy Fold generations.
Samsung’s wider foldable strategy reportedly aims to improve usability as well. Wider outer displays have become increasingly popular because they make foldables feel closer to normal smartphones during everyday usage.
