Qualcomm has officially introduced the Snapdragon C processor, a new ARM-based chip designed specifically for entry-level Windows laptops priced from around $300. The announcement was made during Computex 2026, where Qualcomm positioned the chipset as a major step toward improving battery life, thermals, and overall responsiveness in budget PCs.

Qualcomm Wants to Fix Cheap Windows Laptop Problems

Unlike premium laptop processors aimed at creators or gamers, Snapdragon C focuses on everyday computing. Qualcomm says the platform is designed to deliver smooth web browsing, video streaming, online classes, office work, and multitasking while maintaining cool and quiet operation throughout the day.

Affordable Windows laptops have traditionally struggled with overheating, weak battery life, noisy cooling fans, and inconsistent performance under load. Qualcomm believes ARM-based processors can solve many of those issues by consuming less power while still maintaining responsive day-to-day performance.
