Vivo has officially launched the new Vivo S60 in China alongside the more affordable Vivo S60 Vitality Edition. The latest S-series smartphones focus heavily on battery life, display quality, and premium camera hardware while still maintaining a relatively slim design.

The standard Vivo S60 arrives with flagship-style specifications, including a large 7,200mAh battery, Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset, and a high refresh rate AMOLED display. Vivo is also continuing its push toward bigger batteries in thinner smartphones, something that has quickly become one of the biggest smartphone trends in 2026.

Vivo S60 Focuses Heavily on Battery Life

One of the biggest highlights of the Vivo S60 is its massive 7,200mAh battery, which supports 90W wired fast charging through a USB Type-C port. Despite the larger battery capacity, Vivo has still managed to keep the device under 8mm thick.

Battery-focused smartphones are becoming increasingly common this year, especially among Chinese smartphone brands. Recently, we also saw similar battery-focused hardware with the Xiaomi 17T India Launch Confirmed With Powerful Dimensity 8500 Ultra and Massive 6,500mAh Battery.

Vivo says the phone is designed for extended gaming sessions, video streaming, photography, and heavy multitasking without frequent charging interruptions.

The Vivo S60 features a 6.59-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with support for a 144Hz refresh rate, HDR, 100 percent DCI-P3 colour gamut, and up to 300Hz touch sampling rate.

The higher refresh rate should deliver smoother animations, gaming performance, and scrolling responsiveness compared to traditional 120Hz smartphone panels.

Internally, the smartphone is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 processor paired with up to 16GB RAM and up to 512GB storage. The chipset is designed to offer flagship-grade gaming and multitasking performance while maintaining better thermal efficiency.

Vivo is also offering IP68 and IP69-rated protection for improved durability against dust and water exposure.

Triple Rear Camera Setup Includes Periscope Lens

For photography, Vivo has equipped the S60 with a triple rear camera system featuring:

  • 50MP primary camera with OIS
  • 8MP ultrawide camera
  • 50MP periscope telephoto camera

The periscope sensor supports up to 100x digital zoom, while the front includes a 50MP selfie camera capable of recording 4K videos.

The company is clearly pushing the S60 toward users who want a more premium camera setup without stepping fully into ultra-flagship pricing territory.

Alongside the standard model, Vivo also introduced the Vivo S60 Vitality Edition. The device retains the same display, battery capacity, charging speed, and overall design language as the regular S60.

However, the Vitality Edition switches to a MediaTek Dimensity 7500 Full Power chipset and removes the 50MP periscope telephoto camera found on the standard variant.

The phone still keeps the primary 50MP rear camera and ultrawide sensor while targeting users looking for a more affordable configuration.

Vivo says both smartphones will go on sale in China starting June 3 in multiple colour options, including Early Summer Green, Midsummer Night’s Dream, and Sea of Stars.

TechularZtrix Take

The Vivo S60 looks like another strong example of how quickly battery technology is evolving in 2026. A 7,200mAh battery inside a relatively slim smartphone already stands out on its own, but Vivo is also combining it with a 144Hz AMOLED panel, Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 performance, and a periscope zoom camera. Meanwhile, the Vitality Edition gives buyers a more affordable option without sacrificing the core battery-focused experience.
