Acer Predator Atlas 8 Launches With Intel Arc G3 Extreme Power and 120Hz Display

Acer has officially entered the premium handheld gaming market with the launch of the new Predator Atlas 8, a Windows-powered portable gaming machine designed for high-performance gaming on the go. The handheld runs on Windows 11 Home and features a full console-style control layout with hall-effect analogue triggers, full-size joysticks, adjustable trigger switches, macro buttons, and a dedicated PredatorSense shortcut key.
Acer has also integrated a fingerprint sensor directly into the power button for quicker Windows authentication.
8-Inch 120Hz Display Targets Competitive Gaming
One of the biggest highlights of the Predator Atlas 8 is its 8-inch WUXGA IPS touchscreen with a 1920 x 1200 resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. Acer says the panel supports 100 percent sRGB colour coverage alongside up to 500 nits peak brightness.
The larger display and faster refresh rate could give the Atlas 8 an advantage for fast-paced competitive games, especially compared to smaller handheld gaming systems currently available in the market.
The company is also protecting the display using Gorilla Glass Victus.
Intel Arc G3 Extreme Processor Powers the Handheld
Internally, the Predator Atlas 8 is configurable up to an Intel Arc G3 Extreme processor paired with Intel Arc B390 graphics. Acer is also offering up to 24GB LPDDR5x RAM alongside up to 1TB PCIe Gen 4 SSD storage.

Acer says the Predator Atlas 8 uses a dual-fan cooling system featuring one Predator AeroBlade metal fan alongside an additional plastic fan to maintain stable gaming performance under load.
The handheld also includes dual Thunderbolt 4 ports, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, a microSD card slot, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
Battery capacity goes up to 80Wh on higher-end variants, although Acer will also offer a smaller 60Wh version depending on the model.
